Description

A soft fleece sleeve that wraps the breathing tube over a 8 ft run. It insulates the tube against condensation, takes the rub and rattle out of the tube, and keeps dust and pet hair off the surface. The zippered closure means it goes on with the tube already connected to the machine, and this cut is sized for the thicker cuff of a heated tube.

Why buyers stock this cut

A 8 ft run is one of the four lengths that covers almost every home setup, and standard 22 mm is a common diameter in replacement and accessory programmes. Stocking the length and diameter together is what lets a distributor answer a fit question without opening a specification sheet.

The zippered version is cut roomier so it slides over the thicker cuff of a heated tube, which is why it tends to sit at the front of a comfort-accessory range rather than the back of it.

How it works

Warm humidified air cools as it travels down a bare tube. Once the tube wall drops below the dew point of the air inside, moisture condenses and collects at the low points of the run, which is what users experience as gurgling or a wet hiss near the mask.

Fleece is passive insulation: it slows the rate at which the tube loses heat, so the tube wall stays closer to room temperature and less moisture forms. It does not heat the tube and it does not change therapy pressure - the cover sits on the outside of the tube only.

Construction and materials

Heat-tolerant polyester fleece, generous cut holds its pile after repeated washing, takes colour evenly across a bulk run and is stable enough to carry a zippered closure without the edge waving.

The long edge is bound and the seam is closed, so the sleeve does not fray or shed pile into the tube area. Closure tape and hardware are colour matched to the fabric unless a contrast hardware colour is specified.

OEM and ODM options

Made to order on: cover length and diameter, closure type and hardware colour, fabric weight and pile, colour matched to a swatch, stitching and seam finish, then label and packaging.

ODM support covers the specification itself - if you are building a private-label range and have not fixed the construction, we can propose a fleece weight, closure and length set for your market and price band, then sample it.

Fit notes

Match the cover to the tube, not to the machine. Two figures decide the part: the length of the run from the outlet to the mask connector, and the outside diameter of the tube at the cuff.

Standard tubing measures 22 mm across. Heated tubing is thicker at the cuff and slim tubing is around 15 mm - both use a different cut rather than a 8 ft 22 mm one.

Frequently asked questions

Does a 8 ft cover fit a run that has to be pulled tight?

The sleeve is cut slightly long so the tube can bend inside it. If your run is stretched straight past 8 ft, order the next length up rather than pulling this one tight.

Will the closure scratch the bedding or the tube?

The zipper is a soft-tape type with a small pull and it sits flat once closed; the hook and loop version has no metal at all along the length. Neither exposes a hard edge to the bedding.

Can the colour be matched to our packaging?

Yes. Send a swatch, a pantone reference or a packaging proof and we will match the fleece to it and confirm the match at sampling.

Does this cover need a prescription or carry a medical claim?

No. A hose cover is a comfort accessory, not a medical device. It needs no prescription, it is commonly FSA/HSA eligible in the United States, and it makes no therapeutic claim - it does not treat sleep apnoea and it does not change therapy pressure.

What compliance documentation can you supply?

Materials can be supplied with REACH and RoHS test reports on request, and the factory operates an ISO 9001 quality system. Tell us the market you are importing into and we will confirm which documents that market requires before the order is placed.
